Data Sourcing, Methodological Accuracy & Regulatory Compliance
Zivo utilizes a hybrid data retrieval framework to ensure maximum accuracy, coverage, and validation of product health information.
1. Sourcing Methodology & Data Provenance
Nutritional data points, ingredient profiles, and product composition metrics are sourced via:
- Primary Sourced & Proprietary Databases: First-hand nutritional data profiles verified by Zivo's internal food science team and primary product documentation audits.
- National & International Public Registries: Direct API integrations with official regulatory repositories, including the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) FoodData Central and the OpenFoodFacts global registry.
- Proprietary OCR & Algorithmic Translation: Real-time ingredient mapping and parsing engines powered by advanced optical recognition (OCR) and machine learning models trained on millions of standardized food and cosmetic product labels.
2. Algorithmic Scoring & Regulatory Alignment
The Zivo Analyzer utilizes a deterministic, rule-based algorithm to assign safety ratings, flags, and nutritional verdicts. This engine does not generate subjective opinions; rather, it parses product formulations against codified standards from the world's leading food safety and cosmetic safety agencies, including:
- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI): Specifically aligning with active ingredient bans (e.g., F.No. 11/2/Reg/Flour/FSSAI-2016 regarding carcinogenic bakery treatment agents) and maximum residue limits.
- Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) & Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS): Integrating cosmetics safety standards under schedule IS 4707 (Part 1) for leaves-on and rinse-off formulations.
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Compliance mapping based on the 21 CFR database for additives Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).
- European Commission & UK Food Standards Agency (FSA): Cross-referencing cosmetic and food ingredient listings against European Union regulations for endocrine disruptors, allergens, and carcinogens.
3. Quality Assurance & Accuracy Disclaimers
- Dynamic Database Refreshing: While Zivo coordinates frequent database updates to maintain sync with manufacturer reformulations, the platform relies on the product information declared on the physical packaging. In the event of discrepancy, the physical package label remains the source of truth.
- Non-Clinical Wellness Disclaimer: Zivo operates as an educational wellness intelligence platform. The information, scores, and recommendations generated by the application do not constitute clinical diagnostics, medical advice, or professional dietary prescriptions. Users are advised to seek professional medical advice from qualified healthcare providers for clinical dietary plans or ingredient sensitivity management.
